History

When the company was founded in 1952, Berlin-Wheeler provided full service debt collections for healthcare, utility, financial, retail, and commercial clients. Through the years BW has expanded in staff, facilities, and technology to include an extensive inbound and outbound calling capability to service our clients and accelerate the recovery of their accounts receivable. 

Berlin-Wheeler expanded by opening a call center in Jefferson City, Missouri, in 1970. BW purchased and redesigned a new office space, then moved into that space (our current location at 711 West McCarty), in 1973. Due to the success and growth of the company, the current location doubled in size twice — in 1983 and again in 1992 — and now accounts for 13,000 square feet of office space. 

Berlin-Wheeler has always embraced technology. BW developed and began using emerging collection software technology starting in 1980, while most other firms were paper-based, which enhanced productivity and efficiency in the collection industry. We have always implemented cutting-edge technology as it is introduced into the market, after it has proven effective. Multiple upgrades and replacements in software and hardware over the years have brought us to where we are today. Our current technology can be viewed on the infrastructure page of our website.
