Berlin-Wheeler has solid history upon which our current success has been built.
Harold Leydens, our first President, always held to the principles that “Our reputation in the marketplace is defined by our PROFESSIONALISM, FAIRNESS, ETHICS, SERVICES, AND DESIRED RESULTS.” Those principles are the basis for the current Mission and Vision that we hold for Berlin-Wheeler today.
Originally Berlin-Wheeler provided full service debt collection service for health care, utility, financial, retail and commercial clients. Through the years BW has expanded in staff, facilities and technology to include an extensive inbound and outbound calling capability to service our clients in acceleration of their accounts receivables collections.
Berlin-Wheeler was founded in 1952 and the Jefferson City offices were established in 1970. BW purchased and re-designed a new office space, then moved into that space (their current location at 711 West McCarty) in 1973. Due to the success and growth of the company, the current location was doubled twice — in 1983 and again in 1992 — to achieve our current size of 13,000 square feet of office space.
Berlin-Wheeler has always embraced innovative technology. BW developed and utilized some of the first proprietary software available in 1980 designed to enhance productivity and efficiency in the collection industry. We have always researched and maintained cutting edge technology as it is introduced into the market. Multiple upgrades and replacements in software and hardware brought us to where we are today. Our current technology can be viewed in the Technology section of our website.
